The 2015 Official 26.2 Mile Inca Trail Marathon was a huge success. We had over 50 people attend the trip and our great group of runners all finished the race at the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. Our spectators cheered them at the world's best finish line and everyone went on to celebrate later in the evening at the special awards dinner! This running tour was a prefect fit for the families that attended as well as the single people as we were able to assist in matching them with roommates for the vacation. The group enjoyed ideal weather in Peru for the whole trip after a rare rainy day at the very beginning pushed back our schedule on Day 1 just a bit. White water rafting is always a favorite of our day tours and this year was no different as our runners and spectators enjoyed a great day out on the river. What a spectacular view of the canyon and mountains as we even had some snow on some of the peaks. The hot sauna afterward was the prefect thing after some time on the chilly glacial water. As for the trail races, we had several runners tackle the Incathon trail race to Machu Picchu which is about 18 miles and tougher than about any ordinary marathon out there. The 26.2 mile marathon racers set off at 5AM and all of them were able to accomplish the goal of finishing the marathon in front of Machu Picchu after passing through the sun gate , and completing the entire Inca Trail- which according to our runners was one of the most amazing highlights of the whole event.
Grab a friend, loved one, your kids, or anyone with a sense of adventure and join us in 2016 to run the Inca Trail Marathon!
We wanted to share some of the testimonials from our 2015 runners and spectators. Please visit our Inca Trail Marathon Facebook page to see these comments as they were posted to our facebook page from our tour and race participants.
